In our previous blog post we thoroughly  explained what sub-ohm vaping (vaping with a resistance level of less than 1.0 Ohms). If you’ve spent any amount of time in the various online vape communities, you’ll notice that sub-ohming is a popular and controversial trend in vaping. So what are the pros and cons of sub-ohming?

Bigger Clouds

Sub-ohming tends to produce a very dense, large cloud of vapor. A high quality sub-ohm atomizer will use a much larger wire and wick than a typical high resistance atomizer.

To simplify, sub-ohming uses much more power to spread a larger amount of heat over a much larger area, which causes more e-juice to be vaporized in one moment. If you’re concerned about burning the juice, don’t worry.

Each specific spot is getting the same amount of heat as it would be with regular atomizers, but the area of atomization is much larger. This results in more vapor production, which means you’ll be blowing a much bigger cloud.

But that laso means you’ll run out of e-juice much quicker, which is to be expected since so much more vapor is produced compared to vaping at regular resistance levels.

Warmer Vapor

The extra heat that is produced also causes the vapor to be warmer. While a cool vapor is preferred by a lot of people, there are plenty of fans of warm vapor.

For them, sub-ohm vaping is one of the best ways to go to achieve the temperature that they want.

More flavour.

The extra burst of power that causes the hotter vapor makes the e-juice taste more intense and favorable. Before sub-ohm vaping, many of us would steep our e-juices for long periods of time to get this same desired effect. But steeping is inconsistent and cumbersome. It’s also unsafe to store those tiny bottles of e-juice in dark closets and refrigerator shelves in homes with young kids hanging around

Not for Thrifty Vapers

Sub-ohm vaping makes huge clouds and more intense flavors, but all of these advantages come at a price. A great amount of e-juice is required to give you all those nice, extra benefits. So, sub-ohm vapers tend to witness a huge increase in their e-juice usage. If you are vaping on a budget, you might want to think twice before sub-ohm vaping.

Not for Secret Vapers

If you are the type of vaper show tries to sneak a toke of their vape pen while hiding out in the office , sub-ohm vaping is going to make that rather difficult. Those huge clouds are almost impossible to hide.

Not for Low-Tolerance Vapers

When you take a hit from your sub-ohm vaping mod, you will likely experience an incredible difference in the lung hit. It can be quite intense, if you are not ready for it. Many people in the vaping community call these types of high-tolerance vapers, Mouth-to-Lungers. Be prepared for a big surprise.
